szia, Bogi vagyok.
I’m a TEFL-qualified English teacher and mum of a 2-year old little girl.
Having lived in London and worked in Advertising & Marketing for over a decade, I moved back to Hungary in 2024. I decided to get into teaching English and set up Three Rivers Language School to help people speak English with more confidence.
I’m now based in my hometown Gyor, where I offer face-to-face English lessons either in the comfort of your own home or at a location of your choosing.
You can also have online English lessons with me no matter where you are, either directly or by using the online learning platform Preply.
My Approach
it’s all about you
Every student has different backgrounds, motivations, strengths and weaknesses, learning style, and so on. I want to know what you want to get out of learning English, and I will make sure that you get there in a way that works best for you.
i keep it real
If you choose me to be your English teacher, you’ll learn how British people speak: not just what they say and how, but what they really mean. I want you to be more confident in speaking to native speakers, and that starts with learning their language.
let’s have some fun
Terrified of grammar? Bored of tests? Don’t worry, learning English doesn’t have to be scary, boring or dry. Based on what you enjoy doing in your everyday life, I’ll design lessons that you find fun and engaging, so you won’t even notice that you’re learning.
My qualifications and experience
BA in International Communications (Budapest Business School, 2008)
Account Director at AMV BBDO London, one of the UK’s most awarded advertising agencies
Marketing Officer at Friends of the Earth, the UK’s biggest grassroots environmental campaign organisation
Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate (The TEFL Org, 2024)
Proud mum of a bilingual toddler (since 2022)
MY story
Born and raised in Hungary, I learnt English from age 6 in the Hungarian state school system. I always loved English, I regularly went to English competitions, continued studying it at university, got all the language exams and I even used English when I first started working in advertising, in Budapest.
But when I landed my dream job at a London-based advertising agency and moved to the UK, I suddenly didn’t feel so confident about my English. I remember double-checking every single email before hitting send, and googling lots expressions that I’d never heard of. For about 6 months, I didn’t feel like I could express myself properly and there were 2 versions of my personality: Hungarian Bogi and a much less funny and interesting English Bogi.
Why did I feel that my English was not good enough? Looking back, I believe the Hungarian school system gave me solid foundations but definitely did not prepare me for real life in an English speaking country. It’s not anyone’s fault, and I’m grateful for the education I got, but as an English teacher I want to offer something more, something else to my students, using my knowledge and experience that I gathered over the 12 years I lived in London.
I think English is the easiest and the most difficult language at the same time: it’s easy to learn the basics and build simple sentences, but it gets trickier as you get better, especially if your goal is to become fluent. That’s where I can add value: I can teach you how English is spoken by native speakers, so you can be confident that you’ll understand others and make yourself understood.
what to expect
If you’re interested in learning English with me, get in touch via this website, email or any of my social channels.
Step 1: Needs assessment
I’ll email you a short questionnaire, asking you about your background, goals and preferences.
Step 2: Free trial lesson
Based on the info you’ve given me, I’ll design a trial lesson where we’ll discuss your preferences and do a little bit of learning. This will give you an idea of the kind of lessons you can expect, and help me understand you and your goals better.
Step 3: Let’s get to work!
If you liked the trial lesson, brilliant, we can agree on when you want the lessons to be or what course you can join. If you don’t think we’re a good fit, no worries, we can respectfully say goodbye to each other for now. Trial lessons are free so you wouldn’t have wasted any money.
